A day after reports regarding the barricades erected by authorities at Narsinghar Balgarden area of Karan Nagar Srinagar city, SSP Traffic city Tahir Saleem Khan along with SHO Karan Nagar visited the spot and ensured commuters that these barricades will be lifted pronto. City Traffic Department posted few photographs on the facebook page that reads: “Acting on the public complaint SSP Traffic City Srinagar along with SHO Karanagar visited on spot to take stock of the situation at Balgarden Nursing Garh Karan Nagar and the concerned authorities have been requested for necessary action.” SSP Traffic city Tahir Saleem Khan told CNS that after taking cognizance, he has written a letter to Deputy Commissioner Srinagar asking him to remove the barricades immediately on Narsinghgar Balgarden link road. “Under section 133 CrPc, people can’t block the roads. It is called public nuisance while Deputy Commissioner has the powers to remove those barricades. I have sent him a communiqué and hopefully these barricades will be removed,” he said adding after talking to people there they admitted that they have erected these barricades as it is a residential colony. “Nobody has a right to block the road even if it is a residential colony,” SSP Traffic said. Pertinently, number of barricades has been erected in the middle of the roads at Narshingh Balgarden while the irony is no department was ready to own the action.
